Global Awareness
March 21

What is World Down Syndrome Day?
World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is a global awareness day officially recognized on March 21st. DSNetwork, in collaboration with our friends at GiGi’s Playhouse Phoenix, proudly celebrates this important day each year.
The date—the 21st day of the 3rd month—was chosen to symbolize the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down syndrome.
On World Down Syndrome Day, people around the world come together to participate in events that raise public awareness, promote inclusion, and celebrate individuals with Down syndrome.
