Down Syndrome Network Arizona Raffle Rules 2025
GENERAL
By participating in Down Syndrome Network (DSNetwork), Inc.’s Raffles (“Raffle”), entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of DSNetwork, which shall be binding and final as to all matters related to the Raffles. The Raffle is conducted by and for the benefit of DSNetwork, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, active and in good standing in the State of Arizona. The proceeds of the raffle support our mission which is to educate, support and advocate for those in our community touched by Down syndrome. DSNetwork achieves this goal through an open, supportive and collaborative network that connects individuals and families with needed resources and information.
ELIGIBILITY
The Raffle is governed by the Arizona law and open only to purchasers present in Arizona at the time of entry purchase who are at least 21 years old at time of entry purchase. Executive management, staff, and officers of DSNetwork and their immediate family members residing in the same household are not eligible to win a prize in the Raffle. Any ticket purchased from outside Arizona is void and not eligible for any drawing. In the event of an invalid credit card payment, all tickets issued as a result of the invalid payment are void and not eligible for any drawing.
PURCHASING RAFFLE TICKETS
ALL PURCHASES MUST BE MADE BY ELIGIBLE ENTRANTS LOCATED WITHIN THE STATE OF ARIZONA AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. Down Syndrome Network Arizona shall be the sole judge of the validity and eligibility of all entries. All Raffle ticket purchases shall be final, and no refunds or replacements will be issued by DSNetwork unless the Raffle is canceled by DSNetwork. Entries which are or appear to be tampered with are void. Only one (1) individual may be identified as an entry purchaser. The Raffle is conducted in English. Entries may be purchased via the internet on DSNetwork’s website or in-person at the DSNetwork Gala to be held on April 5, 2025. Entry purchasers providing the Raffle with a valid email address will receive a confirmation of purchase by return email. A copy of the email is not required to claim a prize. Questions concerning ticket confirmations should be directed to the Raffle Administrator at the email address below. All entries are non-refundable.
RAFFLE DRAWINGS
In the Raffles, there is no possibility of a tie. All draws will be under the supervision of the Administrator. Entry purchasers may win more than one prize. All time references are to Mountain Standard Time. All entries are nonrefundable unless the Raffle is cancelled by DSNetwork. Prizes can only be claimed by, and are issued, distributed and paid only to, the participant listed on the winning raffle ticket.
Golden Ticket 50/50 Raffle Drawing: Tickets are sold for $21 each. There is no limit to the number of 50/50 Raffle tickets that may be sold. There will only be one winner. The winner of the 50/50 Drawing will receive one half of the proceeds received from the sale of the 50/50 Raffle tickets. The odds for the 50/50 Raffle are solely dependent on the number of tickets purchased and, because there is no limit on the number of 50/50 Raffle tickets that can be purchased, the odds for the 50/50 Raffle drawing cannot be estimated or guaranteed. Draw date is Saturday, April 5, 2025 at approximately 10:00 pm at the Roaring 20’s Speakeasy Fundraiser Gala. You do not need to be present to win. Prizes may also be donated back to DSNetwork. The winning entry will be selected by random drawing.
Golden Ticket Raffle Drawing: Only 321 tickets will be sold. A minimum of 100 tickets must be sold by April 4, 2025 for the raffle to take place. Raffle Tickets are one for $100, 3-packs for $250. Draw date is Saturday, April 5, 2025 at approximately 10:00 pm at the Golden Ticket Fundraiser Gala. You do not need to be present to win. There will only be one winner. The winning entry will be selected by random drawing. The winner of the Golden Ticket Raffle may choose 1 choice out of the 12 Vacation travel prizes as described on the Raffle website at https://dsnetworkaz.org/events/lights-camera-auction/golden-ticket-raffle/. Travel is transferable. Travel arrangements are made between vacation prize winners and the travel company hired by DSNetwork. See details of travel package on website. All transportation, gratuities, taxes and fees are the responsibility of the winner and each vacation prize has a maximum value of no more than five thousand dollars in total. Winners of travel related prizes must comply with all applicable requirements and restrictions related to said prizes including without limitation applicable travel dates, age restrictions, liability waivers, travel documentation and reservation and confirmation procedures. All vacations are subject to availability and may be substituted with a comparable vacation prize selected by DSNetwork. Prizes may also be donated back to DSNetwork. DSNetwork MAKES NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY AS TO ANY RAFFLE PRIZE. If unavailable, similar or like kind prizes may be substituted at the sole discretion of the Administrator.
NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS
DSNetwork will make reasonable efforts to contact prize winners using information provided on the entry form (such as email and phone number). This notice shall state (a) the prize won, (b) a telephone number and email of a contact person at DSNetwork, (c) the time and location where the prize can be claimed, and (d) that if the prize has not been claimed within 30 days of the date the notification is given, that DSNetwork may, at its option, retain the prize.
DSNetwork will not award a prize if the prize winner (a) was ineligible to purchase a ticket or otherwise enter the Raffle, (b) provided materially false or misleading information to DSNetwork in connection with the purchase of a Raffle ticket, or (c) if participating in this Raffle or receiving a prize is prohibited with respect to such person pursuant to these Rules or Applicable Law. No other Raffle ticket will be substituted for a Raffle ticket, and DSNetwork will retain the prize. A Ticket Holder cannot assign or transfer his/her interest in a Raffle ticket or a prize won by a winning Raffle ticket.
Within two (2) business days of the drawing, DSNetwork will call and email the winner(s) using the information provided at the time of entry, which will be the only means and manner of notification. The winner may be required to give identification, demonstrate proof of entry and/or provide information for any required tax reporting before claiming the Prize.
All potential winners may be required to complete, execute and return an IRS Form 5754, an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release, a prize release form, a selection of prize form and a publicity release in order to claim their prize. If a potential winner does not claim a prize within the required period, does not execute and return required documents within the specified time period, is not in compliance with these rules, or is otherwise found to be ineligible, then, at the DSNetwork’s sole discretion, the potential winner will be disqualified and the prize will be forfeited and returned to DSNetwork.
PRIVACY
By entering the Raffle, entry purchasers agree that their information provided in connection with the Raffle entry may be used for communications promoting the Raffle and future raffles sponsored by or conducted for the benefit of DSNetwork. Purchase of an entry in the Raffle constitutes permission for the Raffle and DSNetwork to use the winner’s name, address and/or likeness, in perpetuity, for purposes of advertising the Raffle or future raffles without further consent or compensation, unless prohibited by law.
REQUIREMENTS
Potential winners must complete all steps outlined in their winners’ letter within the designated time frame. If an entrant is found to be ineligible, or if a potential winner does not comply with the Official Rules, then the potential winner will be disqualified and the prize or a cash equivalent will revert to DSNetwork.
RAFFLE CANCELLATION
In the unforeseen event the Raffle is canceled or cannot be completed, every effort will be made to refund the ticket purchase price to all Raffle ticket purchasers. Tickets purchased by credit card will be refunded to the credit card holder’s account. DSNetwork’s liability to any ticket purchaser is the purchase price of the ticket.
WAIVER / LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
Except as described in the previous paragraph, entry purchasers, by participating in the Raffle (and winners, by accepting a Raffle prize), release DSNetwork, partners, subsidiaries, agents, representatives, sponsors, service agencies and independent contractors, and each of their respective directors, officers, partners, employees and agents from any and all liability with respect to participation in the promotion, possession, use and distribution of the prize(s) awarded.
INTERNET
The Raffle will pursue all available legal remedies against any individual(s) damaging or attempting to damage any DSNetwork Raffle website or attempting to undermine the lawful operation of the Raffle.

ARBITRATION
In the event a dispute shall arise between the purchaser and DSNetwork, any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to the raffle, shall be settled by arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The place of arbitration shall be in the State of Arizona. Judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
FORCE MAJEURE
DSNetwork shall be in default or otherwise liable for any delay in or failure of its performance of the Raffle if such delay or failure arises by any reason beyond reasonable control, including any act of God, any acts of war, terrorism, the elements, earthquakes, floods, fires, epidemics, pandemics, riots, failures or delay in transportation or communications, or any act or failure to act by the other party or such other party’s employees, agents or contractors.
GOVERNING LAW
Should a dispute arise between a purchaser and DSNetwork, the purchaser agrees that all cases, controversies, and legal issues shall be governed by the laws and jurisdiction of the State of Arizona. All applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations are incorporated into these rules. The raffle is conducted pursuant to A.R.S. § 13-3302
TAXES AND IRS RULES
All winners shall be responsible for any and all federal, state and local income or excise taxes, fees, assessments and like charges associated with the prizes. All cash prizes will be paid net of applicable income tax witholding. The purchase price of raffle tickets does not qualify as a deductible charitable contribution. Raffle winnings are taxable income and must be reported as such on income tax returns. The winner may be required to complete and return to DSNetwork an IRS Form 5754, W-9 form, W8-BEN, and/or other applicable forms (i.e., Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification) before, and as a condition precedent to, receiving the Prize.
SPECIAL NOTE
At the time of this posting, federal law requires that corresponding tax withholding on prize values of $5,000 or greater must be collected from winners upon award and distribution. Federal and state withholding laws are subject to change without notice. The withholding laws in effect at the time prizes are claimed will be followed. The IRS has taken the position that amounts paid for chances to participate in raffles, lotteries or similar programs are not gifts and, therefore, the price of the entry does not qualify as a deductible charitable contribution.
