Karen Starbowski was born and raised in Michigan and has been living in Arizona since 1999. She received her BS in Mathematics from Eastern Michigan University. DESCRIPTION:Let’s Play!!\nThe ClubXtra crew (children ages 0-7 with Down syndrome) are invited to join us for a fun playdate at PLAYzona in Glendale. \nA little about PLAYzona: \nThe PLAY space includes themed community structures such as: market\, medical office\, school\, police/fire station\, and a house. \nChildren and caregivers use imagination and role playing to explore\, interact\, and have fun! \nWhile the entire PLAY space is safe for all ages\, their is also a special area for our youngest children (ages 0 – walking). \nChildren may choose from a variety of ‘vehicles’ to move around a track or stop at the gas station to fill up. \nEnjoy the NEW Sensory Space which features a scarf shooter\, swing\, sensory and light tables\, and more! \nRegistration required. DESCRIPTION:Rock Your Socks! Spread the words of Kindness. Inclusion. Acceptance. Every year on March 21\, people all around the world come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored mismatched socks. March 21 is symbolic because people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome. Socks were chosen to represent Down syndrome because the karyotype or genetic image of a person’s set of chromosomes actually looks like mismatched socks.\nWhat It Is and How It Works?\nOn March 21st\, DSNetwork encourages schools\, businesses\, and organizations around Arizona to celebrate and create awareness on World Down Syndrome Day and wear their mismatched colorful socks. Together we will create a single global voice advocating for the rights\, inclusion\, and well-being of people with Down syndrome in our schools\, community\, and around the world. 3/21\, World Down Syndrome Day\, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which is Down syndrome.\nPlease take photos of your organization rocking their socks and tag DSNetwork on social media #rockyoursocksaz\nfacebook.com/DSNetworkAZ    linkedin.com/company/dsnetworkaz/   instagram.com/downsyndromenetworkaz/\nWho Can Participate?\nAnyone and Everyone! No pre-pay necessary\, just turn in the funds after you sell the socks. If you run out of socks\, you can always request more pairs. These orders can be placed through our Bulk Pre-Order Form. Great for teachers/school employees\, business owners\, doctors offices\, nurses\, first responders\, daycare providers\, sports teams\, student groups\, and more!
