WV Aging Matters (Ages 18+) @ Dave & Busters – Jan 28th

Aging Matters (18+ years old)
Aging Matters is a group where older adults with Down syndrome and their caregivers can come prepare for and navigate through the complex process of growing older. Aging Matters is a monthly group that provides free respite and transportation services for adults with Down syndrome so that they can participate in a variety of stimulating activities that are challenging but not overwhelming. Each session for adults with Down syndrome provides them with opportunities for self-expression through art and music, maintaining a healthy lifestyle through exercise and nutrition, peer to peer relationships, community engagement and supports their employment and independent living skills. Caregivers can come together to share their experiences, seek recommendations and receive education about adult Down syndrome topics such as Alzheimer’s support, grief/loss, and accelerated aging.

At each event, DSNetwork has a limited number of FREE spots available exclusively for individuals with Down syndrome, ages 18+, and their caregivers. Caregivers include parents, guardians, providers, or family members (ages 18+) who are considered to be caregivers to their loved ones with Down syndrome. New families are always welcome!

We’re expanding to the West Valley!

Join us for a kick off event at Dave & Busters. Meet new friends, get to know other caregivers of adults with Down syndrome and learn about Aging Matters.
